One last point concerning the 'mainlined' plants, notice the next image. The stems of the 'mainlined' plants are thick and strong with many main stems now capable of feeding the plant, hence the uptake in growth.

At this stage you should have healthy growing vegetative Marijuana plants with eight major branches or 'arteries'. Each branch will form a stem that will grow up to five feet and will bud from the top down. The top bud is the main cola where the flowers grow extensively with many more buds lower down but that are smaller. You will find each branch or artery will load itself with buds, so at the end of the growing season when the buds have turned a brownish hue you will have eight branches of buds; more on this later in the book.
